The photographic project Sozinhos is part of an ongoing investigation surrounding family life, relationships and motherhood. This chapter aims to explore our family life during the lockdown period.

It is a visual autobiographical diary that depicts our experience during this time. We are suddenly confined in our homes, unable see family and friends, and the children cannot play with or get close to anyone out of the household.

This unnatural situation brings us together as a family unit, and on a daily basis we need to learn how to deal with repetition, boredom, fear of loss and chaotic situations. My husband is a key worker and continued to work as usual.

This project was created as part of the Final Major Project for the completion of the MA Photography for Falmouth University, 2020. From this work, a Photo Zine was produced and will be released soon, together with online exhibitions.
